I love thrifting, and one of the best places to do that in Montana is at Goodwill.

Some people love Goodwill, but others hate it, but could that be because of some untrue myths surrounding the company? Let's take a look at 5 of the biggest myths when it comes to Goodwill.

Well, that is except for our first myth, which is one of the biggest.

This one has been a persistent rumor for a long time. Goodwill is a non-profit 501(c)(3), and as such their financial reports are all made public, and while the CEO is compensated quite a bit, no one makes over $1 million in their company.

This is another internet rumor that keeps popping up; but they absolutely are. They clear up other internet rumors here.

Myth #3

If the Great Falls Goodwill can't sell an item, they'll find creative ways to use them, such as turning old clothing scraps into industrial wipes (cleaning cloths) for industrial buyers. Other items that are too damaged for retail sales in Great Falls may be recycled.

Their in store survey revealed that people of all income levels shop at Goodwill. Plus, by shopping there, you fund job training, disability services, and health care services depending on what community you are shopping in.

You can't use Goodwill as your own personal dump, as there are many items that Goodwill either won't or can't accept legally.
