The BEST Grocery Store In America, But Not One In Montana

The Grocery Store Montanans Are Still Dreaming About

When I was in high school, I worked at a grocery store after school, and it was there that made me realize how we can be a bit like a family to the shoppers.

Having a good selection of food, fresh fruits, and veggies along with good prices will only go so far, but having great customer service and friendly employees could make your store the best in town.

Is It Even Fair to Call It “Best” If It’s Not in Montana?

Turns out the best grocery store in America does have all those things, but the one thing they don't have is a location in Montana.

People have plenty of options when it comes to shopping in Montana, as we've got Albertsons, Super 1, and Winco along with places like Costco, Sam's Club, and Walmart as well.

People have been hoping that this grocery store would come to Montana for a while, and seeing as they just ranked as the best grocery store in America, I'm hoping it happens soon too.

What Makes a Grocery Store “The Best” in America?

The American Customer Satisfaction Index recently put out their 2025 ranking of the best grocery stores in America.

They ranked them based on the following factors:

• Convenience of store hours
• Convenience of store location
• Layout and cleanliness of the store
• Variety and availability of merchandise
• Hospitality of the staff
• Accessible Pharmacy Hours

Along with plenty more, and when it was all said and done, TWO stores actually topped the list, and sadly neither one is located under the Big Sky.

The one that we are highlighting, though, is Trader Joe's.

I can't count how many times I've heard people say they want a Trader Joe's in the Treasure State.

Sadly, it doesn't look as if we'll be getting one anytime soon, as they announced their expansion plans for 2025, but Montana is not part of them at this time.

So while we might not have a Trader Joe's (or a Publix), we do have some great grocery stores in Montana.👇
