'Code Brown' At A Walmart In Montana Means Leave NOW
I'll admit that since Walmart introduced curbside pickup in Montana, I don't shop in person as much as I used to.

Walmart Has Multiple Intercom Codes
When I do end up having to go inside Walmart, I usually am laser focused on getting what I need and getting out as soon as possible.
So there are plenty of times when an employee comes over the intercom and maybe asks for assistance or a price check, and I just tune them out and continue shopping.
There is one code, "Code Brown," that if you hear it, stop what you're doing and immediately leave the store and call 9-1-1 as soon as you are safe.

The Meaning Behind The Different Intercom Codes
So first off, the "Code Brown" code doesn't have anything to do with poop or bodily functions; it's actually a very serious situation allowing employees to alert other employees as to what is happening without causing a mass panic.
In fact, they have multiple codes including other color-coded ones, while also having some that use names or letters.
One of the most famous codes is "Code Adam," which is named after Adam Walsh, a 6-year-old boy who was kidnapped from a department store in 1981 and sadly was later found to have been murdered.
Since then, many new codes have been added, and you can see what each one means in the gallery below.
