How Long Are Montana Residents Living In The 21st Century
According to a study published by Our World of Data, people across the world lived to the age of 68 in 1950.
Today, people in Montana and across the world are living on average 11 years more, or up to 79 years of age.
One of the biggest factors for the increase was the decline of child mortality, however life expectancy increased for all age groups over the last 70 years.

People Are Living Longer, But That Brings New Problems
While advances in medicine mean people are living longer lives, that can mean more issues in older age.
The first problem is health; it could be problems with disability, Alzheimer's, cancer, diabetes, or just the body slowly breaking down over those extra years.
The other problem is monetary. It costs money to live, and the longer we live, the more we need to make, save, or have paid out in social security.
While some people would love to live forever, I remember back to what my grandfather, whose mind was sharp as a tack but body betrayed him, told me on his 92nd birthday.
"Don't ever get old."
