Another day, another food recall.

What's recalled now?

The Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall for Deli Express BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches due to the possibility of non-edible material, bits of plastic in this case, being included in the food, creating a possible choking hazard for consumers.

The sandwiches were shipped to convenience stores and grocery stores across the country from January 2025 until late October.

What do I do?

Store owners are being told to inspect their stock to see if they have any of the recalled lots of sandwiches, and if they do, to get them off the shelves and out of their inventory immediately.  There are 19 recalled lots at present, and the lot codes can be found on the FDA website for the recall, linked above.

If you purchased one of the sandwiches recently and haven't eaten it yet, take a look at the wrapper.  According to the company, the lot code should be on the label next to the bar code.  Check it against the lot codes linked up above.  If the code matches, don't eat the sandwich or open it up and look for plastic bits.  Just throw it out.

So far, no injuries have been reported in connection to the recall.
