Cascade County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in an investigation that was recently ruled a homicide.

Suspicious Death in Cascade County: What Initially Happened?

On January 9th at 4:52 PM, Cascade County Sheriff's Office shared a video saying they were investigating a "suspicious death south of Great Falls in conjunction with the Great Falls MT Police Department."

"We're here on scene on the 1700 block of 22nd Ave South," Sheriff Slaughter said in the initial video. "Cascade County Sheriff's deputies along with the Great Falls police department, we're out here investigating a suspicious death."

"This call came in shortly before noon today."

At that point in time, Sheriff Slaughter shared they were investigating people of interest, processing evidence, and conducting necessary interviews.

Cascade County Sheriff's Office Confirms Suspicious Death Is A Homicide

Late on Sunday, Sheriff Slaughter provided a follow-up confirming that the case is, in fact, a homicide.

"I can now confirm that that incident has been ruled a homicide," Sheriff Slaughter said in the video. "The victim in this homicide is Terrell Johnson, a 25-year-old male from Harlem, Montana."

Sheriff Slaughter highlighted how agencies have been working together and now, they're calling on the public for additional information.

Cascade County Homicide: What Do Investigators Need Help With?

Law enforcement worked through the entire weekend digging through evidence and leads... but it's a lot.

"We followed several leads, we are literally analyzing hundreds of pieces of evidence at this point in time," Sheriff Slaughter shared.

And there's one particular piece of evidence that Sheriff Slaughter says is critically important.

"We are going to show in this post a picture of a 2014 red Chevy Cruze," Sheriff Slaughter shared.

"This car is the victim's car, and it has believed to have been in many different areas throughout our community. We're looking for a time frame of January 7th to January 9th at approximately noon when the 9-1-1 call came in."

As you would expect, the vehicle's prior whereabouts could help investigators in a HUGE way.

"This evidence is critical," Sheriff Slaughter emphasized in the video, "We want to determine who our victim was with and what places that he was present at. One of the things that we've learned through our investigation is that our victim often attended the downtown bar scene."

What You Can Do To Help In The Cascade County Homicide Investigation

Sheriff Slaughter is asking business owners to double-check any security footage or media they might have captured on camera.

"We're asking you to check that evidence and look for this red Chevy Cruze that will be described here in this post, this is critical information."
