I feel like most of us have been in a situation where we read about a recall on our vehicle... and did nothing about it. I can't tell you how many times over the years I've received a recall alert about something like a faulty sensor or another part that I've never paid attention to.

But recently, Hyundai announced a recall that none of us should ignore.

According to the Montana Department of Transportation, more than half of the people killed in crashes each year are unbuckled.

One person is way too many but more than half of accidents? That should be alarming and another reason to take Hyundai's latest recall so seriously.

According to the official document for the massive recall, Hyundai is "recalling certain 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles." The report says that the "seat belt buckles in the driver, passenger, and second-row window seats may fail to latch."

The recall notice says that a staggering 568,580 vehicles are affected by the faulty seat belts.

What Is Hyundai Doing About The Seat Belt Recall?

Hyundai says in their recall document that dealers will "inspect and replace the seat belt buckle assemblies, as necessary, free of charge" with letters going out to the homes of affected owners on November 10th.

Until then, owners affected by the recall are advised to "insert the belt firmly into the buckle with a quick and direct motion, pulling on the belt to confirm the seat belt is fully secured, until the recall remedy is performed."
