
Montana Singles: Beware Of This Tricky Holiday Scam!
The holidays are supposed to be all about joy and spending time with loved ones, right? The winter conditions add to the special holiday aura and create the ultimate romantic backdrop.
And while that all sounds perfect, this season is also the season of scams.
Beware Of "Romantic Scams" In Montana
Back in February, right before Valentine's Day of all times, the Montana Commissioner of Securities and Insurance, James Brown warned Montanans about the dangers of "Romance Scams."
"Romance scams, which involve deceptive online relationships often initiated through dating websites, apps, or social media, have become increasingly prevalent," the Montana Commissioner of Securities and Insurance said in a press release.
"Scammers create fake profiles to lure unsuspecting individuals seeking companionship, ultimately asking for or stealing money once they’ve gained the victim’s trust."
Holiday loneliness is a real thing for some people and it's absolutely disgusting that there are scammers out there willing to prey on people's emotions just to make a buck.
Thankfully, there is something you can do it about it.
