Mail Carriers Work To Stamp Out Hunger In Montana

Letter carriers across Montana will work to stamp out hunger in the Treasure State the second weekend in May.

For 30 years, the National Association of Letter Carriers has continued its tradition of helping food banks in their local communities.

Stamp Out Hunger Details

The annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive will be on May 11th.

On this day, mail carriers will pick up non-perishable food items left outside mailboxes along their routes.

The mail carriers will then deliver the food to the local food banks.

To participate, grab a few nonperishable food items, put them in a grocery sack, and leave them out by your mailbox. It's that simple.

Great Fall Community Food Bank

In Great Falls, food collected during the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive will be given to the Great Falls Community Food Bank, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting hunger.

The Great Falls Community Food Bank is a distribution center for more than 70 emergency food providers in and around Cascade County.

In addition to food distribution, the food bank also hosts Backpacks4Kids and canned food drive events throughout the year.

According to the Great Falls Community Food Bank, their most needed items include:

  • Breakfast Cereal
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Peanut Butter & Jelly
  • Canned Fruit
