Two Great Falls Minors Transported to Hospital After Daytime Fire
It has certainly been a busy couple of weeks for the Great Falls Fire Rescue crew in our city. Matter of fact, I don't think they have really had a breather since late in 2025. The number of fires that are occurring in our city is alarming to say the least.
Just this week, efforts to extinguish a small home fire on Monday, combined with a late evening fire at the Hickory Swing Golf Course enveloping the cart storage barn have made for an active week. And now they are back at it for the month of April, with a scary fire happening in the afternoon on April Fool's Day.

Red Cross Notified About Possible Needs for Family in Great Falls
Great Falls Fire Rescue stated that the Red Cross agency in the city has been notified and are currently assisting with the family for any needs they may have. Unfortunately, because of the fire the gas has been shut off for safety reasons.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation with the Great Falls Fire Rescue department. The agency added that as of April 1st, 2026, the department has answered 30 fire related calls since January 1st, compared to 20 from the same time frame in 2025.
