Western History with Butte, Montana Ties Up for Auction Now
Montana isn't a stranger to American Western history; after all, we host one of the largest western art sales and shows each year in the heart of the state in Great Falls. And when folks think that history, it seems it often leans to the Cowboy or Indigenous Peoples type of collectibles.
You know, common items like saddles or sandals, weapons like revolvers and long guns. All highly desired, and rightfully so. But there was another part of the history that is also quite valuable. Booze. More specifically how alcohol was transported and stored in things like flasks or drinking vessels. You could own a piece of that history with a new auction from a popular whisky brand.

The auction also features pewter drinkware from the 1880's, and a one-off silver decanter made by renowned silversmith Beau Compton. But it was the unique decanter from Butte, Montana that really caught my eye.
Butte Flask Came from the Harper Family of Longtime Coach in Helena
That piece that caught my eye is a flask from days gone by, that is simple and beautiful:

The whisky flask was once owned by longtime Helena coach and school supporter George Arther Harper, who passed in 2011. The piece is being offered currently with a bid of $450 at the auction site here.
