Police Release Details About Overnight Shooting In Great Falls
On November 1, 2023, at around 10:50 pm, the 911 dispatch center received a call reporting a shooting incident that had taken place at a residence situated in the 3000 block of Lower River Rd.
Local law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and discovered a 36-year-old male victim who had sustained two gunshot wounds.

The officers provided crucial trauma medical care to the injured individual while awaiting the arrival of emergency medical personnel from Great Falls Fire Rescue and Great Falls Emergency Services.
The victim was subsequently transported to the Benefis Emergency Department and has since been discharged after receiving medical attention.
Witnesses indicated that the suspected shooter, a 35-year-old male known to the victim, had fled the area immediately following the shooting.

In response, officers, in collaboration with deputies from the Cascade County Sheriff's Office, initiated an extensive search operation throughout Great Falls and the surrounding regions, which extended into the early afternoon of the following day.
An arrest warrant, charging the suspect with Assault with a Weapon (a felony) and setting a bond amount of $100,000, was issued for his apprehension.
At approximately 1:00 pm, the suspect was successfully apprehended by the Wheatland County Sheriff's Office in Wheatland County, Montana.
The arrest occurred as part of a separate investigation when the Wheatland County authorities identified the suspect. Wheatland County is located approximately 130 miles to the southeast of Great Falls.
