Temperatures Are Expected To Drop 20 Degrees This Weekend in Montana

Here's what you need to know weather-wise before you start planning your weekend.

After a few weeks of temperatures well into the 90s, I don't think many folks will complain about a few days in the low 70s.

But man, what a drop!

The only potential challenge as the weekend approaches is the fact that this next weather system may bring with it some more rain.

Now for the general public, some rain is no big deal.

But for the farmers and ranchers trying to get their grains or hay cut, it presents some challenges.

Here's what's coming up...

The relatively strong and consistent ridge of high-pressure ridge that has been camped out over the state will begin to move out of the region late Thursday.

Immediately following this system will be a reasonably aggressive cold front.

This cold front will allow colder air from our north to settle in on Friday.

It does appear that this system will also draw some Pacific moisture into the region.

The best chances for moisture will be Friday afternoon through Saturday.

We'll likely stay a bit cloudy as we head into the new work week, and a few scattered showers can't be ruled out.

Temperatures are on track to begin rebounding on Tuesday of next week, likely returning to the mid to low 80s throughout the state.
