
Local Man Sentenced in California for Murder of Wife
A former Great Falls, Montana man has been sentenced to 25 years to life for the murder of his wife in California in 2024.
Thomas William Dunlap was found guilty in Riverside, California of the murder of Kimberly Sue Dunlap on June 8, 2024. Thomas Dunlap gunned down his wife after an altercation at their residence.

Dunlap has been featured numerous times through the local Cascade County/Great Falls Crimestoppers program. The program posts the most wanted individuals in the area each month, offering tipsters the opportunity for a monetary reward when applicable.

In Great Falls, Dunlap was wanted for the following offenses: fail to abide on criminal possession of dangerous drugs (felony), criminal possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor).

According to reports from The Patch website, Dunlap "admitted a first-degree murder charge under a plea agreement with the Riverside County District Attorney's Office in September." With his admission, charges of "gun and great bodily injury allegations were dropped against Dunlap."
At his appearance on Tuesday in California, Dunlap was informed of his sentence by Superior Court Judge Jennifer Gerard who certified the terms of the plea deal and imposed the stipulated sentence.
