Camping season.  I love spending time outdoors.  I have my favorite places, my go to spots, and then I always try to throw in a new place every summer.  I have my tent camping spots and my camper camping spots.  Spots that are in a camping ground, and some hidden gems I won't give up.

Along with camping season comes the campers.  Let's face it, more people are getting out and enjoying our beautiful state.  Can't blame them at all.  It's what we do in Montana.

What I can blame on new campers is what they do while camping and what they might not do when done camping.  There is nothing worse than rolling up to your favorite spot and finding the last campers leaving the place trashed.  For the ones leaving behind a mess, good thing I don't know where you live because I would hand deliver your garbage to your front door.  But seriously, clean up after yourself!  This is why we can't have nice things.

Follow the rules.  Not every campground has a list of rules, and I know there is not a list of rules posted on the side of a mountain, next to a creek, on state land.  But there is an unwritten camping code.  A wink, wink, kind of code.  A commonsense kind of code that we all should abide by.

Don't know the code?  Let me pass along some of the top camping etiquette rules.  Or guidelines.  I don't care what you call then, I just care about you following them.

Don't do these things while camping. Be the cool camping dude, not the other dude.
