The Great Falls City Commission Puts Fireworks On The November Ballot
It's official, come November 4, 2025 the residents of Great Falls will decide if we will have a fireworks ban inside of the city limits.

Remember, this all came to a head in July 2025 when an elderly Great Falls woman and her dogs died in a house fire that was thought to be started by rogue fireworks shot off in her neighborhood.
What Is The Law In Great Falls Regarding Fireworks Right Now?
Great Falls City code states that fireworks are allowed to be shot off in city limits between July 2nd and 4th from 8 am to midnight.
Great Falls City Commission Has Been Discussing The Fireworks Issue For Weeks
Ever since the housefire of July 2, 2025, the commissioners have discussed a fireworks ban in the electric city.
Commissioner Rick Tryon says his inbox is filled with fireworks complaints each year. “I think the best way to address those and the most appropriate way is by sending those to the ballot,” he said.--Montana Free Press
Commissioner Joe McKenney said, “Let’s not divide the community because we’re shielding ourselves from criticism,” he said.--Montana Free Press
What Kind Of Fireworks Will Be Banned If This Passes?
The Commission is looking to ban fireworks that leave the ground and fireworks that explode upon activation on the ground,
