Right now, things are tough in America for the underprivileged. The government just keeps cutting away at things that can help people like LIAP. (That helped people pay their electric/heating bills in the winter. It's a good thing that's gone.)

Now, both parties in their attempts to blame everything on one party or the other, have ended up putting Americans in a tricky situation:

  • Will it be food or will it be health insurance?

There really IS MONEY FOR SNAP that the government doesn't want to use because then they couldn't blame the other party for their misdeeds. If you want proof, it's here. And here, and here, and here, and finally, here to see the dirty little secret congress and the senate are hiding from us while they have their DC pissing match.

(There are more places to get proof that we don't need to starve children or senior citizens in America. They just want to right now. After 5 places proving my point, it's time to move on.)

I'm not here for a debate. While the yahoos in Washington are trying to get people to believe a load of hooey, I thought I'd give you places where you can make a donation to help fellow Montanans in need, or maybe you need to visit them yourselves.

There is help. Please take it if you need it.
I know things are tight. I just had it out with a company over a $55 charge on my card. EVERY SINGLE CENT MATTERS right now.
If you DO have a bit extra, please consider donating to one or all of these places. Each school also has a food pantry so you could take your food there if you want to make sure it gets into the hands of kids. It doesn't matter how you help, it matters that you help.
I hope things go ok for you right now.

Maybe you want to donate to local food banks. What do they truly need? This time of the year, I always think back to this famous AskReddit post on Reddit asking "People who work at or have needed to get food from a food bank, Whats the one food that you wish more people donated and why"? Inside this story, several great items came up that you would never think of.
