Montana, This Is Not How We Do It

I've been reading about a voice-mail left to Senator Sheehy of Montana from Helena City Commissioner, Haley McKnight. We need to talk about this.

Here's the message, transcribed by Fox News:

"Hi, this is Haley McKnight. I'm a constituent in Helena, Montana. I just wanted to let you know that you are the most insufferable kind of coward and thief. You just stripped away healthcare for 17 million Americans, and I hope you're really proud of that. I hope that one day you get pancreatic cancer, and it spreads throughout your body so fast that they can't even treat you for it. I hope you die in the street like a dog. One day, you're going to live to regret this. I hope that your children never forgive you. I hope that you are infertile. I hope that you manage to never get a boner ever again. You are the worst piece of s--- I have ever, ever, ever had the misfortune of looking at … God forbid that you ever meet me on the streets because I will make you regret it. F--- you. I hope you die."

Now, in Montana, we don't leave things like that in a voice-mail. We say it right to their face. Don't leave stuff like this on a voice-mail. That's how babies do it, or Californians.

FYI, McKnight doesn't deny leaving the message, in fact she double-downed on it. Good on her to own up to her actions. Check out that story by clicking here.

Can We Talk About Living In The Digital Age?

This message was left on July 1 after Washington voted on more tax cuts for billionaires and less tax cuts for everyone else. (Funny how it took so long to call her out.) Understandably McKnight was enraged. Lots of us were.

Thing is, we live in an age where everything is forever. Unless you say it to someone's face that ISN'T recording, it WILL come back to bite you.

In my family, we never ever put anything in writing or record anything unless we want it to be remembered. Forever.
