Today August 4, is International Beer day.

It also helps that it's a Friday here in the states so this holiday fits somewhat like a glove.

International Beer day hasn't been a thing forever, It started 2007 in Santa Cruz, California back in 2007.

According to Wikipedia, it originally was celebrated on the 5th of August. However, after some thought it was changed to celebrate on the first Friday of August every year, and encourage to celebrate this day by giving the gift of beer. The holiday has three basic purposes to uphold:

-To gather with friends and enjoy the taste of beer.
-To celebrate those responsible for brewing and serving beer.
-To unite the world under the banner of beer, by celebrating the beers of all nations together on a single day.

Maybe start with a bar crawl in Great Falls going to each brewery grabbing a beer. As your served, one can thank the place for making delicious beers for the public. I'm sure they would appreciate it because to brew beer is a labor of love.

Bars around town are celebrating as well including the Kellergeist Pub Theater. One can purchase a pretzel and get a free draft beer. They celebrate German beers down there and there's plenty to go around.

Vintage Sellers have lots of beer to choose from in their coolers and new stuff in all the time.

One idea that I had for next year, brew some beer at home for next year's International Beer Day. Bottle it up just before the holiday and give 6 packs out to your closest friends to share and enjoy.

Cheers!!
