Different regions have different tastes. For example, in the south people like eating okra and grits. In the northeast, they eat critters that look like underwater bugs. In Seattle its, fish with a side of fish. In the midwest and places like Montana, we eat cow testicles. There are different foods for different people. But, what is the most hated foods that we can agree on?

The website Zippia crunched Google search data. They searched for keywords in Google searches. And compiled a list of nearly 40 foods that people considered "gross." Then they searched Google trends to find foods people tend to hate the most in each state.

What did they end up with? According to the Zippia study

  • America’s most hated food? Olives.

  • Two highly rational states (Connecticut and Massachusetts) know that well-done steak is a scourge on humanity.

  • Nobody hates cottage cheese, tuna, liver, tomatoes, or peas the most.

  • Want a pizza for yourself? Order one with anchovies- 12 states hate anchovies the most.

As for us here in Montana, what food do we hate the most? Turkey Bacon? Sushi? Eggplant? None of the above. It turns out that Montana's most hated food is actually one of the most healthy options in the nearly 40 foods searched.

CARROTS! (yeah! so much for getting that good eyesight we were promised if we ate them.)

I do agree somewhat with these findings. But, I can think of much grosser things on the list than carrots. Our neighboring states agree that turkey bacon, anchovies, and eggplant are the grossest things.

The bottom line is if you think "ewww gross" every time you see a carrot. You are not alone.
