The Wildest Place in Montana Is Stunning And Amazing
If you are looking for a place to explore that hasn't been touched by modern technology, this is the place for you.
Most people believe that Montana is full of wildlife and beautiful scenery, and they are right. Anywhere you go in Montana, there is a chance you will run into an assortment of animals and see Instagram-worthy pictures to take daily, but where is the wildest place in Montana?
When people think of wild places, their minds will drift towards Yellowstone or Glacier National Park, Montana State Parks, or even many of Montana's national forest areas.
What if I told you there is a place in Montana that is a definition of purity and hasn't been touched by modern technology? Then this has to be the wildest place in Montana.
Espresso published a list of The Wildest Place in Every US State, and we have to agree with their pick for Montana. Montana's wildest place is The Bob Marshall Wilderness.
The Bob Marshall Wilderness can be found between two massive mountain ranges, the Mission Mountain Range and the Swan Lake Range. So how can you reach the Bob Marshall Wilderness? You have to either hike into the area or go on horseback. There aren't any roads, so you will have to go in an old-fashioned way.
When people think of natural wonders in Montana, they immediately think of Yellowstone's Grand Prismatic Spring or Flathead Lake. The Bob Marshall Wilderness has two natural oddities that will leave you bewildered.
First, the Bob Marshall Wilderness is home to the deepest cave in the United States. This is the largest limestone cave ever discovered in America and reaches a depth of almost 2,000 feet. The only way to access this cave is to endure a 22-mile hike.
Then there is The Chinese Wall in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. The Chinese Wall is a rock formation part of the Continental Divide and looks like a giant wall that spans over twenty miles in the middle of a forest.
These would be more than enough to be a part of Montana's wildest area, but this wilderness is also filled with wolves, grizzly bears, and dense forests. It's practically untouched by the modern world and should stay that way.
If you are feeling adventurous and want to explore the Bob Marshall Wilderness one day, you better be prepared.
