The Garden of One Thousand Buddhas

Near Missoula and Arlee, this public park and botanical garden also features a thousand statues of Buddha.  It's a beautiful drive and something really unique to check out. Talk about a cool place for pictures.

Red Sun Labyrinth

In the Bitterroot near victor, you'll find this particular labyrinth.  Everyone who stops is encouraged to leave a stone.

House of Mystery

Alright science lovers, no hating on the House of Mystery.  Located near Columbia Falls, this place in Montana seems to defy gravity.  I just loved going there when I was a kid.  It was also in close proximity to the go cart track.

St. Ignatius Mission

Built in 1891 on the Flathead Indian Reservation, this beautiful building features 58 murals all painted by Brother Joseph Carignano.

The Shire of Montana

What?  What?  What?  There's a shire in Montana?  I love the address:  9 Hobbit Lane, Trout Creek, Montana.  You can rent a room in the shire on a nightly basis.  What I really need to know is when is Second Breakfast?

Old Shep Memorial

If you'd like to see a statue of the best boy that ever was, head down to Fort Benton and visit the Old Shep Memorial.  In case you don't know about Shep, he was owned by a cowboy who died.  They shipped his body off to his family via train, and Shep followed them to the train station and watched him go.  Every day for the next 5 1/2 years, Shep would return to the train station patiently waiting for his cowboy to come home.  He was eventually killed by a train and buried on a hill overlooking the train station.

Koocanusa Dunes and Camping

Koocanusa Reservoir is near the Canadian border.  Some of the dunes here are 40 feet high and there are nice sandy beaches.  There is a hitch, you can usually only use the dunes when the water is lowest, between March and June.  This reservoir also has the city of Rexburg under it and you can see the foundations when the water is low.
