Injuries made for a tough weekend on the Great Falls Americans Hockey team

Great Falls Americans are 6-6 in the Frontier Division and sit in 4th place.  #6 Badlands Sabres are 3-8-1 and are in town Friday and Saturday for games at the Great Falls Ice Plex.  Game time is 7:30 pm MST both nights.Each week I visit with Head Coach Greg Sears and here is part of the interview:

Randy Bogden- KMON: Kind of a tough weekend on the ice. Talk about the two games against Gillette.

Coach Greg Sears: Tough weekend for the boys and didn’t start real good. We had a lot of injuries early on Friday night and found ourselves shorthanded all weekend. So I’m proud of how the guys we had available brought it on Saturday night, give us a chance, but wound up a little short.

Randy Bogden- KMON: Are those players going to be able to play this weekend or what is the injury status?

Coach Greg Sears: We're in rough shape. A couple of guys probably day to day here. We have to check them out this morning and send them to our training staff and then take a look again tomorrow. So hopefully they'll be available.

Randy Bogden- KMON: Talk about Badlands Sabres coming up this weekend.

Coach Greg Sears: There the team we played in the playoffs last year. They're off to a decent start. They had a split against Butte this weekend and expect them to come in and play hard.
