Want To Volunteer? Bozeman To Host State Games And Needs You Help
As spring and summer approach, things are going to start to pick up in and around Bozeman. Let's just be honest, it's been a long winter, and for a whole lot of us, any reason to get out of the house is a good reason.
This weekend Bozeman will host the 2023 State Summer Games for the Montana Special Olympics. This is exciting news, especially when you consider that for the last few years, the games have been limited, but this year it will be a return to the full program and this year's theme "Together At Last" acknowledges that fact.
The 3 Day event is one of the most inspirational and uplifting events that you will ever attend, and people in and around Bozeman are going to have a wonderful opportunity to be part of this year's games.
The State Games will take place between May 17th-9th. The opening ceremony will be at Bobcat Stadium at 6:15 PM with special guest Stephanie Quayle. Events this year include bocce, track and field, golf, gymnastics, soccer, swimming, and cycling. The Montana Special Olympics is looking for volunteers that would be willing to help at the event to make sure that the athletes have a wonderful time.
There are several different ways that folks can volunteer, and it's estimated that around 1000 volunteers will be needed to make sure that the games run smoothly. This would be a great opportunity for friends, families, businesses, non-profits, clubs, fraternities, and sororities to be part of something very special.
If you are interested, you can visit the Montana Special Olympics website to check out the different opportunities and pick something that is best suited for you.
