A new bar and restaurant opened in Bozeman last week called 1864, and many of us are excited to try it out and see what it offers. Then I saw their food menu.

The food menu for 1864 looks exciting, with eye-catching ribeyes, pasta, and desserts that sound lovely. The only problem we had with 1864 was when we saw the menu was the astronomical price of their cheeseburger.

The burger at 1864 will cost you a whopping $26.

The burger is a Lucy-style patty, where the cheese is inside the burger, and it comes with dijon aioli and house tots.

If you live in Bozeman, you are used to paying a premium on certain food items but paying that much for a cheeseburger is wild. We looked around the state at some of the most expensive restaurants, like Horn & Cantle in Big Sky and The Keep in Missoula, and their burgers don't exceed $20.

We shouldn't judge a restaurant's burger until we try it, but you have to admit that burger price will have you asking some questions.
